1 Utama's Book Matters Campaign Expands Through Partnership with Budimas!

Book Matters: Gift A Book, Gift A Future

1 Utama has been championing the cause of literacy and sustainable book circulation through its "Book Matters: Gift A Book, Gift A Future" campaign since November 2022. This initiative encourages shoppers to donate new or preloved books at the mall's dedicated recycling hub, the 1RECYCLING CENTRE. The donated books are then distributed to underprivileged families, schools, libraries, and learning centers, fostering literacy and spreading the joy of reading.

Partnership with The Budimas Charitable Foundation!

In a bid to further extend the impact of the Book Matters campaign, 1 Utama has announced a new partnership with The Budimas Charitable Foundation for 2024. This collaboration aims to reach an additional 10,000 beneficiaries, providing them with much-needed literary resources and educational support. With this strategic alliance, 1 Utama seeks to build upon the success of previous years and continue its mission of promoting literacy and education.

In 2023 alone, 1 Utama managed to collect and donate an impressive total of 35,958 books, benefiting over 150,000 individuals across various communities. The mall's Public Relations and Sustainability Senior Manager, Lee Li Lian, emphasized the invaluable role of books in imparting life's lessons and expressed gratitude to the shoppers for their support. Jacqueline Wong, Finance & Administration Manager of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, echoed this sentiment, highlighting their shared commitment to making a positive difference in the community.

Through the combined efforts of 1 Utama, Budimas, and the public, the Book Matters campaign continues to foster a culture of reading and learning, while also promoting sustainable practices. This collaborative endeavor is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many, ensuring that more individuals have access to the transformative power of books.
