A Nostalgic Trip to a Hong Kong Teahouse (Without the Flight)

If you’ve been itching for a trip to HK but your bank account says "staycation," MyTOWN Shopping Centre has a solution. From January 29 to February 22, 2026, their Central Town area has been transformed into a nostalgic Hong Kong teahouse-inspired wonderland. We’re talking a reflective lantern room, interactive corners, and enough photo-worthy installations to keep your Instagram feed busy for the entire Year of the Snake. They’ve even got a "Seasons & Smiles" studio-quality photobooth on the Ground Floor so you can get a family portrait that actually looks professional for once.

More Than Just "Chop! Chop! Chop!" Activities

The campaign, aptly named "Rhythm of Reunion," is packed with more than just pretty lights. For the kids (and the young at heart), there’s a mall-wide stationery activity called "CNY Chop! Chop! Chop!" running daily. If you prefer something more high-energy, make sure to catch the Traditional Lion Dance performances at 3:00 pm on weekends. And for those who like things a bit "extra," there’s an LED Acrobatic Lion Dance happening at 7:30 pm at Town Park on the first and second days of CNY.

Shop at MyTOWN, Win at IKEA?

In a move that’ll make furniture fans very happy, MyTOWN has teamed up with their neighbor, IKEA, for the "Two Stops, More Rewards" campaign. According to General Manager En. Mohd Azhan Che Mat, this collaboration is all about giving back to the community. Shoppers stand a chance to win daily prizes and rewards worth a whopping RM50,000. Plus, if you’re a MyTOWNKL member, you can trade in those reward points (starting from just 228 points) for exclusive red packets or a fancy travel tea set.

New Tenants to Help You Spend That Angpow

If your CNY mission involves a wardrobe or home refresh, you’re in luck. MyTOWN is welcoming some heavy hitters this month, including Japanese home furnishing giant NITORI and the international kids’ brand Balabala. Local favorites like Sometime, Bayu Somerset, and Bakar Thai Bowl are also joining the party, with Siti Khadijah and Akemi set to open their doors soon. Whether you’re looking for snacks from Jin Ye Ye or new bags to carry your oranges, there’s plenty of new ground to cover.
