A Major Boost for Local Hawkers and Micro-Entrepreneurs Nationwide
Agrobank has taken a massive step toward inclusive economic growth by forging a strategic partnership with the Gabungan Persatuan-Persatuan Penjaja dan Peniaga Kecil Melayu Malaysia (GPPPKMM). This collaboration expands the reach of the bank's Agro Penjaja-i initiative, ensuring that Malay hawkers and micro-traders across the nation receive targeted financial support. By leveraging GPPPKMM's extensive network and role in national economic policy, the partnership connects grassroots business owners directly to vital development programs.
Going Beyond Financing with Comprehensive Support Tools
Agrobank Group President and CEO, Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, emphasized that sustainable growth requires more than just capital. The Agro Penjaja-i program brings together financial literacy, practical digital integration, and dedicated business guidance to build resilient businesses. Participating traders can access microfinancing up to RM100,000, Ar-Rahnu financing up to RM300,000 via a priority "Green Lane," preferential profit rates, three months of hands-on business coaching, and advisory services for Halal certification.

Accelerated Digitalization and Impressive Milestones Since Launch
Since launching in May, Agro Penjaja-i has already delivered tangible results, surpassing RM1 million in AgroSaudagar deposits across 488 accounts. The drive to modernize traditional businesses has registered 370 new digital banking users and activated 311 DuitNow QR accounts, which have already facilitated over 14,000 transactions valued above RM200,000. Additionally, over RM2 million in microfinancing has been approved across 70 accounts, backed by the deployment of DuitNow QR SoundBox units to simplify instant payment alerts for busy vendors.

Grassroots Engagement Yields Multi-Million Dollar Application Surges
Agrobank’s commitment goes beyond formal agreements to active on-the-ground outreach. Working alongside partner agencies through initiatives like the Skim Usahawan Tani Agrobank x FAMA, the bank has conducted 10 engagement sessions at farmers' markets nationwide. These direct consultations allowed traders to receive customized financial advice, resulting in a staggering 274 microfinancing applications worth RM10.6 million. Agrobank plans to maintain this momentum by expanding ties with trade associations and government partners.
