More Than Just Dates and Water in Putrajaya

Ramadan in Malaysia usually means two things: navigating massive traffic jams to get to a bazaar and attending enough Iftar events to fill your social calendar for a year. But on February 23, 2026, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) decided to level up their annual breaking-of-fast session. Held in the heart of Putrajaya, this wasn’t just a "makan" session for the staff—it was a full-on effort to strengthen ties between the ministry, its agencies, and the people who actually keep the Malaysian business engine running.

A 30-Minute Masterclass on Being a Better Human

It wouldn't be a meaningful Ramadan event without some food for thought before the actual food. The night was graced by the Mufti of the Federal Territories, Sahibus Samahah Ustaz Ahmad Fauwaz bin Ali @ Fadzil. He didn't just give a standard lecture; he delivered a punchy 30-minute tazkirah that focused on Ramadan being the ultimate training ground for self-improvement. It was a reminder that while KUSKOP is busy fixing the economy, the individuals behind it should also be busy fixing their inner selves.

RM28,000 and a Mountain of Groceries for the Kids

The highlight of the evening (aside from the sirap bandung, probably) was when Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong took to the stage. He wasn't there just to give a speech; he was there to deliver the goods. KUSKOP and its agencies pooled together a solid RM18,000.00 for Rumah Bakti Al Kausar. But they didn’t stop there. An additional RM10,000.00 in cash and essential groceries were handed over to 20 orphans from the home, ensuring they have everything they need to celebrate the season with a smile.

Building More Than Just Businesses

While the night was centered around the spirit of giving, the underlying message was clear: KUSKOP is about people. By organizing events like this, the ministry is reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility while pushing its mission to empower entrepreneurs and cooperatives. It’s all part of the bigger "Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia" vibe—proving that you can be "pro-business" while also being "pro-rakyat."
