Thrills Above the City Skyline

Extreme sports fans are in for a serious adrenaline hit this weekend! The 21st edition of the Kuala Lumpur Tower International BASE Jump officially kicked off today, running from 2 to 4 October 2026. Organised by BASE Malaya Club with Kuala Lumpur Tower as the venue host, the iconic event brings sky-high excitement right back to the heart of the Malaysian capital.

A Leap into the Record Books

Launching the multi-day event in grand fashion, jumpers are aiming for a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR). Qualified athletes will take the plunge from KL Tower’s Sky Terrace in rapid sequence, attempting to set a provisional record for the ‘MOST PARTICIPANTS IN A CONSECUTIVE TOWER BASE JUMP’. While the final criteria and outcome remain subject to official MBOR confirmation and weather conditions, the daring attempt cements KL's status as a premier global hub for extreme sports.

Front-Row Seats to the Action

For spectators looking to get closer to the heart-pounding spectacle, the event introduces the exclusive 'Sitting on the Edge' experience. Strapped safely into a harness, guests can sit right on the outer ledge of the Sky Terrace. It offers a rare, front-row view of elite jumpers diving off into the open sky against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

A Historic Legacy of High-Altitude Leaps

KL Tower is no stranger to aerial daring, having pioneered BASE jumping events back in 1999. Involving leaps from fixed structures—Buildings, Antennas, Spans, and Earth—from heights between 60 to 1,300 metres using a single parachute, the sport requires precision and strict qualifications. This year’s edition brings together over 200 elite jumpers from more than 30 nations, including Malaysia, the US, Australia, France, Japan, and Singapore.

Putting Kuala Lumpur on the Global Stage

The event arrives during a massive weekend for the capital, drawing international eyes to Malaysia’s vibrant event scene. Expressing his excitement, Mr. Khairil Faizal Hj. Othman, CEO of LSH Service Master Sdn. Bhd., highlighted that there is truly no visual more breathtaking than seeing international athletes launch themselves off KL Tower—turning the national landmark into the ultimate stage for world-class thrills.
