A Festive Launch with a Forward-Looking Vision

This Chinese New Year, KL Wellness City (KLWC) welcomed the Year of the Horse with more than festive cheer. Through its “Kongsi Cahaya” celebration, the pioneering healthcare master township signalled both cultural vibrancy and significant progress in its long-term healthcare ambitions.

Held in Kuala Lumpur, the event was officiated by Encik Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, representing the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, alongside Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee, Managing Director of KL Wellness City. The gathering brought together community partners, invited guests and representatives from local welfare homes, reflecting KLWC’s commitment to inclusive growth.

“Kongsi Cahaya”: Sharing Light and Community

In his welcoming remarks, Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee described “Kongsi Cahaya” as more than a festive theme. It symbolises KLWC’s mission to be a beacon of health, hope and shared prosperity.

As part of the celebration, KLWC extended support to several local orphanages, including Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association, Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Victory Malaysia and Yayasan Sunbeams Home. The initiative reinforced the township’s belief that true prosperity is measured not only by development milestones, but by how much a community gives back.

KL International Hospital Nears Completion

Beyond the festivities, KLWC provided updates on its major healthcare projects, signalling steady momentum toward operational readiness.

The KL International Hospital has now reached 85% completion and remains on track for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026. A key feature currently under construction is its rooftop helipad, which will facilitate critical patient transfers in the future.

Meanwhile, The Nobel Healthcare Park is targeted to achieve vacant possession by mid-2026. These milestones collectively reflect KLWC’s vision of building a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that integrates medical services, wellness facilities and medical tourism within a single master-planned development.

A Historic First: Five Original Chinese New Year Songs

In a move rarely seen from a healthcare developer, KLWC marked the occasion with a creative milestone: the debut of five original Chinese New Year songs performed live by five local groups.

Performers included 1119 Entertainment, Mari Home Group of Artists, Jubilee World Pageants, Goddess of Nature Malaysia and Top Scholar Education Group. Songs such as “Blessings Are Coming,” “Mari Home,” and “A Year to Shine” added a distinctive cultural dimension to the event, highlighting KLWC’s support for homegrown artistic talent.

Promoting Preventive Healthcare

Adding a meaningful touch to the celebration, KLWC sponsored a festive lucky draw where ten guests received health screening vouchers worth RM1,000 each. The vouchers will be redeemable at KL International Hospital upon its opening, reinforcing KLWC’s emphasis on preventive healthcare and early intervention.

As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position as a regional medical and wellness tourism hub, KL Wellness City’s “Kongsi Cahaya” celebration demonstrated how infrastructure development, cultural engagement and community outreach can come together in a shared vision for the future.
