Powering the Next Wave of Commercial Innovation
As global supply chain complexities and food security demands reshape the culinary landscape, Malaysia took center stage at the 25th edition of the Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB) 2026. Held from 15–17 July at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, this premier B2B event convened top market leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers across Southeast Asia. Anchored by the theme "Future-Ready F&B: Powering the Next Wave," the trade fair focused on driving cross-border partnerships, commercial innovation, and sustainable practices essential for long-term growth.
Strategic Insights and Knowledge Sharing
Graced by Guest of Honour Y.B. Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, the event highlighted the necessity of adaptability in today’s evolving market. Central to this mission was the MIFB Knowledge Hub, where industry leaders from Toastmaker, Tetra Pak, StoreHub, Subway, and Supergulp shared actionable strategies. Key sessions covered AI implementation, automation, data-driven decision-making, and export readiness, while Celebrity Chef Alan Coxon delivered an insightful address on building sustainable, multi-decade F&B brands.

Celebrating World-Class Talent and Specialty Coffee
Exhibition visitors were treated to high-stakes talent showcases, including the Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) in partnership with the Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association. The event celebrated historic international milestones set by homegrown barista talent, including 2026 World Brewers Cup Champion Nas Jaafar and World Latte Art Championship 1st Runner-Up Jacky Chang. These showcases highlighted Malaysia's growing stature as a regional powerhouse in café culture and specialty coffee production.
Global Sourcing and Tailored B2B Opportunities
MIFB 2026 facilitated unprecedented global trade access through dedicated international pavilions representing China, India, Poland, South Korea, Turkiye, and Thailand. To maximize deal-making, the fair featured specialized tracks such as MIFB Connect for targeted business matching between suppliers, retail buyers, and HoReCa executives, alongside MIFB Launchpad, a live startup pitching session to top investors. Additionally, the MIFB ChefTable provided an experiential culinary display using exhibitor products, prepared by Silver Medalists from the IKA Culinary Olympics 2024.

Building Resilient Regional Trade Partnerships
Reflecting on the event’s 25-year legacy, Roger Lim, Founder and CEO of One International Group, emphasized that modern F&B businesses require integrated solutions rather than standalone products. By bridging tech innovators, global suppliers, and local producers under one roof, MIFB 2026 reaffirmed Malaysia's role as a vital regional gateway for food trade, investment, and future-proof supply chains.
