A Historic Motorcycle Launch in Kuala Lumpur

Thunder Motorcycles has officially roared into Malaysia with the launch of the Thunder LS250-S, marking what many enthusiasts are calling one of the most significant custom motorcycle debuts in the country. Unveiled on 11 January 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, this is Malaysia’s first-ever factory-built 250cc custom bobber, inspired by Japan’s legendary custom bike culture and brought in by official distributor Bike Continent Sdn Bhd.

A Cross-Border Custom Collaboration

The Thunder LS250-S is the product of a unique partnership between Japan’s renowned custom builder Noro Yuji-san and China’s leading custom specialist Ka-san, blending artistic craftsmanship with modern manufacturing precision. Importation is handled by Mofaz Motosikal Sdn Bhd, ensuring that the model reaches Malaysian riders with full regional support. The launch was celebrated with a ceremonial handover of 88 units to new owners — a strong signal of the brand’s ambitions in the local market.

Factory Custom, No Mod Needed

Unlike many riders who start with a stock bike and spend thousands on modifications, the Thunder LS250-S rolls out of the factory as a fully customised bobber. Its iconic features include a classic springer fork, hand-built frame, loud handcrafted exhaust, oversized rear sprocket, wire-spoke wheels, Shinko saw-tooth tyres, and a vintage aesthetic featuring a peanut tank and low solo seat. Together, these elements deliver an authentic, road-ready custom look straight from day one.

Built for New Riders and the Community

Powered by a 250cc fuel-injected V-twin engine, the LS250-S is accessible to newer riders and does not require a full big-bike license in many markets. Beyond performance, the bike is designed for Malaysia’s growing custom riding scene, with easy personalisation options, local parts support, and a ready-made community of enthusiasts eager for group rides and events.

Japanese Style at a Malaysian Price

While the bike retails in Japan at around 996,000 yen (approximately RM26,000), Malaysian riders can own the Thunder LS250-S for RM23,788 — making it one of the most affordable ways to experience true Japanese custom bobber culture. Thunder Motorcycles positions this as a game-changer: a premium-looking custom bike without the usual high cost of aftermarket builds.

Bringing Custom Culture to Everyday Riders

Thunder Motorcycles was founded in 2020 with a mission to make authentic Japanese bobber style reliable, stylish, and attainable for every rider. With its Malaysian debut, the brand is not just selling a motorcycle — it is introducing a new chapter of custom riding culture, one that blends craftsmanship, identity, and freedom on two wheels.
