The 13th edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur concluded on a high note, aligning sourcing, training, and entertainment with the latest global industry trends and underscoring the enthusiasm of Malaysia’s automotive market.
Record-Breaking Participation
Over three days, 310 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions came face-to-face with 13,017 visitors from 70 countries and regions. This marked a 30 percent increase in visitor attendance compared to the previous edition, with the event spanning 9,710 sqm across halls 1 to 5. Discussions centered around automotive mobility solutions, focusing on electrification, digitization, automation, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain management, invigorating the automotive aftermarket and lifestyle trends.
Strong Engagement and Expansion Plans
Ms. Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, expressed her delight at the high levels of engagement from participants across numerous aspects of the show. She highlighted the decision to transition to an annual show and announced plans to expand into Hall 6, aiming to bring more resources to the market and better serve industry stakeholders.
Spotlight on Automotive Mobility Solutions
The debuting Automotive Mobility Solutions Zone spotlighted the industry's shift towards electrification and digitization, as well as automation and manufacturing. Exhibitors showcased cutting-edge technologies and solutions for new energy vehicles, battery systems, charging facilities, and more. The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference, featuring 35 speakers, created synergy between product sourcing and information exchange, providing a comprehensive experience on the show floor.
Diverse Zones and Leading Brands
The fair featured representation from leading brands in the Commercial Vehicle & Fleet Zone and the Automotive Repair, Maintenance & Care / Body & Paint / Accessories & Customizing Zone. These areas focused on solutions for fleets, diagnostics and repair technologies, customizing, car care, and more.
Global Reach and Regional Focus
Automechanika Kuala Lumpur attracted professional buyers from 69 overseas countries and regions, including Australia, Cambodia, Canada, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the UAE, and Vietnam. The fair reflected the region’s offerings across various aspects of the automotive supply chain, with 37 percent of exhibitors from ASEAN. This edition also celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.
Fringe Programme: A Unique Experience
The event’s fringe programme delivered valuable insights and personal experiences through activities like autoFEST@KL, featuring customized and classic cars, DIY workshops, motorsport simulators, and esports gaming. Popular motorsports drivers YS Khong, Leona Chin, and Adele Lew joined to share their racing experiences. The interactive elements engaged a wider audience, including car owners and enthusiasts, enhancing the inclusivity of the show.
Collision Repair Training Workshop
The Collision Repair Training Workshop was a crowd favorite, attracting over 200 attendees. Expert trainers from 3M, ESnet Academy, ISQ, LAUNCH, and Magic Cube demonstrated practical knowledge and techniques on diagnostics and maintenance for EVs, ADAS, measuring systems, body and paint, and workshop management.
