Hold up, guys, BYD is going all-in on Malaysia. They just announced a whole bunch of awesome stuff that’s going to change the game for EVs in our country. We’re not talking about just another car launch; this is a three-in-one bombshell: they’re setting up a local factory, they launched the new and improved BYD SEAL, and they opened a gigantic new showroom. It’s a triple whammy that proves they’re not just here for a visit—they're here to stay, fuyoh!

BYD's New Factory is a Big Deal (Like, Really Big)
This is probably the biggest news of the day. BYD is building a huge new CKD (Completely Knocked Down) factory in Tanjung Malim, Perak, which is set to start churning out cars in 2026. Why does this matter? Well, CKD means local assembly, which usually translates to lower prices and better access to EVs for all of us. Basically, they're making electric cars cheaper and easier to buy for Malaysians. This is a massive commitment and a huge win for our local EV scene.

Meet the New BYD SEAL: More Speed, More Style
Alongside the factory news, they officially launched the new BYD SEAL. This EV sedan was already a best-seller, but the updated version brings in even more goodness. It comes in two variants, Premium and Performance, and the Performance variant is seriously fast—it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. That's basically rocket ship speed, lah.
It's not just about the speed, though. The new SEAL also gets some cool upgrades like a powered sunshade for the panoramic roof (say goodbye to the scorching Malaysian sun!), new 19-inch rims, and a new colour: Shark Grey. They even upgraded the suspension to give you an even smoother and sportier ride. The best part? The price is still super competitive, starting from RM171,800.
Malaysia's Biggest BYD Showroom Opens its Doors
To top it all off, BYD and Sime Motors also opened the largest BYD 3S centre in Malaysia! Located in Balakong, this place is massive, with two whole floors for car displays and 10 service bays. It's not just a showroom; it's a full-on one-stop shop for sales, service, and spare parts. This shows how serious they are about providing great after-sales support for the 36 outlets they now have nationwide.
This is a huge step forward for the Malaysian EV market. With local production, a new and improved car, and better service, it looks like BYD is ready to dominate!
