Royal Enfield, a global leader in the mid-size motorcycle segment, made a thrilling debut at the Malaysia Auto Show 2025 by unveiling two all-new motorcycles: the Bear 650 scrambler and the Classic 650 cruiser. Both bikes are powered by the celebrated 650 Twin motor and are designed to offer versatility and a powerful proposition for riders of all skill levels. The excitement is palpable as these models bring a fresh blend of legacy and modern performance to the Malaysian market.
Bear 650: A Scrambler Forged in Desert Racing History
The Bear 650 is more than just a new bike—it's a stylish, versatile scrambler infused with the "full-send" spirit of 60's desert racing. Inspired by the legendary Eddie Mulder's historic victory at the 1960 Big Bear Run, the bike channels raw instinct and relentless determination. The chairman of Didi Group, Mr. Rewi Hamid Bugo, highlighted its "commanding presence and confidence-inspiring performance," predicting it will be an "absolute joy" for Malaysian riders on urban streets or off the beaten path. Anuj Dua, Business Head for Asia Pacific at Royal Enfield, emphasized that the Bear 650 is a "true testament" to the brand's legacy, embodying the 'In Gut We Trust' ethos.

Power and Style: What Makes the Bear 650 Roar
Fuelled by the smooth and characterful 650-Twin platform, the Bear 650 delivers a robust 47 bhp (34.6 kW) at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 56.5Nm at 5,150rpm, offering enhanced mid-range punch. Its performance is complemented by a distinct 2-in-1 exhaust system and a compact single silencer. The bike's true scrambler DNA is evident in its aesthetics: chunky dual-purpose tires, contoured scrambler seats, a 184mm ground clearance, and a combination of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, fitted with dual purpose tyres. Modern essentials like the Tripper Dash TFT display and black aluminium switch cubes ensure a contemporary riding experience. Riders can choose from four striking, California-inspired colourways: Petrol Green, Wild Honey, Golden Shadow (all priced at 35,700 MYR), and the special edition Bear 650 Two Four Nine (at 36,000 MYR), a tribute to Eddie Mulder’s iconic race number.

Classic 650: Double the Charm, Double the Character
The Classic 650 elevates the beloved Classic family with double the character, craftsmanship, and charm, powered by the same acclaimed 650 Twin engine. It remains true to its timeless roots while delivering a more powerful, smoother ride that is both nostalgic and modern. As Mr. Rewi Hamid Bugo noted, the Classic 650 is an "evolution of everything riders have loved" about the line. The bike carries forward the iconic ‘frame-loop’ design and features luxurious detailing like a beautifully sculpted fuel tank, vintage-style round headlamps, and elegantly curved fenders, all paying homage to its rich legacy.
Classic 650 Liveries and Availability
The new Classic 650 brings back much-loved colour schemes and introduces new ones, reinterpreting the brand’s heritage. The variants and their prices are: Bruntingthorpe Blue (34,500 MYR), Vallam Red (34,500 MYR), and Black Chrome (35,500 MYR). Both the Bear 650 and the Classic 650 will be available at Royal Enfield showrooms across Malaysia starting May 14, 2025.
