A Month-Long Festival Driving Purposeful Innovation

BYD and DENZA brought purpose-driven innovation to the ParkCity Year-End Light Festival with the Light the Change Festival at The Waterfront @ Desa ParkCity. Running until 4 January 2026, the month-long immersive experience blends art, education, and technology to spark meaningful conversations around sustainability and the future of electric mobility, reinforcing the brands’ commitment to environmental responsibility and collective action.

One Degree. One Future: Turning Vision Into Impact

At the heart of the showcase is One Degree. One Future, BYD’s global initiative aimed at cooling the Earth by one degree Celsius. Through its electric mobility solutions and energy innovations, BYD has helped reduce more than 9.3 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions globally. In Malaysia alone, cumulative BYD and DENZA sales have surpassed 25,233 units, contributing to an estimated annual reduction of 62,191 tonnes of carbon dioxide—equivalent to planting nearly 2.5 million trees.

According to Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, sustainability is a collective responsibility shared by communities, industries, and individuals. The Light the Change Festival serves as a platform to help Malaysians understand how everyday choices, including the transition to electric vehicles, can play a meaningful role in creating a cooler, healthier future.

Sime Motors’ Role in Accelerating Electric Mobility

Supporting this growth is Sime Motors, BYD’s official distributor in Malaysia, which has driven EV adoption through the introduction of seven models, an extensive network of sales and aftersales outlets, and consistent investment in customer experience. With more than 25,000 units sold, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing electric mobility nationwide.

Beyond visual installations, the festival features interactive sustainability zones, weekend Golden Hour performances, and on-site test drives of the latest BYD and DENZA models. Together, these experiences demonstrate how innovation, community engagement, and conscious choices can drive real climate impact—lighting the path towards a more sustainable future.
