Kuala Lumpur, February 24th, 2024 – For the first time ever, LALIGA EA SPORTS FC Beat the Best has arrived in Malaysia, marking an exciting chapter for esports enthusiasts in the country. With AEON as the main sponsor and Vertex as LALIGA’s local partner and event organizer, this tournament promises to bring the best amateur players into the spotlight, continuing the success of previous international Beat the Best tournaments.

A Unique Blend of Online and Offline Competition

Announced at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, the tournament will feature both online and offline stages. Malaysian participants can register from February 24th until March 17th, 2024, with online qualifiers taking place between March 17th and 23rd. The grand final event, scheduled for April 12th and 13th, 2025, will bring together the top competitors alongside a special guest—a LALIGA Legend—who will engage with fans through a Meet and Greet session.

Competing for Glory and a Grand Prize

With a total prize pool of RM30,000, participants will battle throughout March for the prestigious title of Malaysia’s best amateur player. The champion will earn the opportunity to travel to Spain for an unforgettable LALIGA experience, immersing themselves in one of the world’s most celebrated football leagues.

In Spain, LALIGA FC Pro—the country’s official EA SPORTS FC 25 competition—launched its 2024-2025 season on November 28 and 29 with the ‘Rising Stars’ event. This initiative continues to be the benchmark for competitive gaming in Spain, thanks to LALIGA’s strong partnership with EA SPORTS. Last season saw over 3,300 participants in ‘Rising Stars’ and a series of online tournaments awarding various prizes.

A major highlight of the esports season took place at GAMERGY, Spain’s largest esports and gaming event. On December 13th, LALIGA and EA SPORTS hosted LALIGA EA SPORTS X FC 25 RUSH, a unique competition that combined virtual and real-world football. Featuring legends like Luis Figo and Carles Puyol facing off against gaming influencers xBuyer and Spursito, this innovative format blended the best of both football worlds.
