Tohtonku Donates RM1 Million in Personal Care Products to Marginalized Communities

As part of its 60th-anniversary celebrations this July, Tohtonku, a leading home-grown personal care manufacturer, has announced a generous contribution of RM1 million worth of “Follow Me” personal care products to benefit marginalized communities in the Klang Valley.

This initiative reflects Tohtonku’s commitment to giving back to the community that has supported the company since its inception in 1964. The donation includes essential hygiene products such as toothbrushes, hand sanitizers, moisturizers, cleansers, body wash, and shampoo, aimed at improving personal care and hygiene among disadvantaged groups.

"According to the World Health Organization (WHO), diseases disproportionately impact the poor and socially disadvantaged due to their lack of access to hygiene solutions. The recent rise in COVID-19 cases emphasizes the need for continued vigilance," said Jasper Lim, Executive Director of Tohtonku. "Tohtonku is committed to raising awareness about the importance of good hygiene and ensuring that our communities have access to the necessary products to maintain it," he added.

The distribution will reach approximately 13,000 individuals within the B40 community, including indigenous peoples, the differently-abled, and orphans. The products will be distributed to selected public housing schemes (PPRs) and through collaborations with non-governmental organizations such as Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and the SOLS Foundation.

Earlier in June, the first batch of donations was distributed to PPR Taman Wahyu 2, PPR Seri Semarak, and the SOLS Foundation, benefiting 6,300 individuals. The next phase will target communities in Sungai Besi, Keramat Permai, and Bandar Kinrara.

Tohtonku is also working closely with several charitable organizations, including Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras, Community at Heart, Rumah Raudhatul al-Feez, and Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Home of Peace, to ensure the effective distribution of these essential products to those in need.
